In January 2012 I won a competitive pitch with McCann Erickson Sydney to create the animated spot for Mount Franklin's new 'Easy Crush' bottles. The agency referenced the work of Australian artist and children's book author Jeannie Baker. Jeannie's makes wonderfully intricate 'relief collage' images composed of overlaid intricately sculpted elements. I was inspired by her approach, but wanted to take it somewhere else. 

We ended up creating a film that looks like an ornamental set, complete with intricately crafted animals that one may find in what would be a cross between an outback gift shop and a designer interiors store :)

The agency wanted us to make sure that our animals complimented the crushing movement of the bottles and didn't take the lime-light away from the product. I think we managed to do just that. 

I worked very closely with Lillian Darmono who illustrated our Mount Franklin world. And kudos once again to the brilliant Engine crew for animation, shoot and production.
